Buying a brand new home should be exciting, not overwhelming. At Elev8 Homes, we’ve eliminated the hardest parts — finding land, managing builders, and chasing consents. You simply buy a finished home.

But there’s still a process. This checklist walks you through every step, from your first viewing to holding your front door keys.

Stage 1: Before You View (1–2 weeks)

  • Get mortgage pre-approval from your bank or broker

  • Check your KiwiSaver balance for first-home withdrawal

  • Confirm your First Home Grant eligibility (if applicable)

  • Make a list of must-haves: bedrooms, bathrooms, parking, outdoor space

Stage 2: Finding Your Elev8 Home (1–4 weeks)

  • Browse available terrace and standalone homes on our website

  • Visit completed homes or near-complete builds

  • Compare locations: schools, transport, shops, future development

  • Ask for the disclosure pack — includes title, consents, and warranties

Stage 3: Making an Offer & Signing (1–2 weeks)

  • Submit your offer through our sales team

  • Review the sale and purchase agreement with your lawyer

  • Confirm the settlement date (typically 4–8 weeks out)

  • Pay your deposit (usually 5–10%)

Stage 4: Finance & Legal (2–4 weeks)

  • Provide your signed agreement to your bank

  • Convert pre-approval to full approval

  • Your lawyer completes title and LIM checks
